DESCRIPTION: This class will learn a Travis-style picking pattern and apply it to a basic chord progression as an example to create your own compositions. Then, use the same picking pattern to play the intro to a few songs by The Beatles. In addition, learn picking patterns based on classical studies by Aguado, and Giuliani and apply them to chord patterns. Finally, learn an excerpt from a song, by Alex Lifeson of Rush, that is based on a similar pattern. The class will continue to focus on proper technique, good tone production, and tone color variations.
This class is designed for anyone who has a guitar and wants to expand their playing style by learning finger picking. Whether you just got your first guitar yesterday or have been playing for years and want to be a diverse player, or just need help improving tone through good technique, this class is for you.
